Mobile Travel Tips: In-flight Wi-Fi
If your airline has in flight Wi-Fi, chances are it's Gogo Inflight Internet. They usually have multiple pricing options. If you're using a mobile device you can pay between $4.95-$7.95 depending on the duration of the flight. If you're using a laptop you'll end up paying $12.95 for 24 hour pass. Most people these days carry both a mobile and a laptop. If you go for the 24 hour pass you can use both.
It's a good idea to bring your own power strip with you. The Targus Travel Power Outlets with Surge Protection are perfect for long layovers in crowded terminals. Use TripIt for all your travel plans. Just forward your confirmation emails to plans@tripit.com and TripIt will automatically organize everything for you in one central place. They even have iPhone and Android apps for easy mobile viewing. Do you have any mobile travel tips to share? 1 Reply

It's not something you can use inflight, but if you have a USB mobile broadband card, I suggest something like a Cradlepoint router (I use the CTR350) which lets you share the connection over wi-fi with other people, but even if it's just you, it lets you put the cellular card where it's got the best signal. There's also the MiFi, which combines cellular broadband with a Wi-Fi hot spot.
