If you're looking for a way to sync your Nexus One with iTunes you should check out iSyncr. It's $3, but worth it. It even does smart playlists. The developer says he'll include Audible files as soon as there's support for them. Don't let the crappy blogger.com site fool you. I've checked it out. It's a little kludgy, but it performs as advertised.

How do you sync your Nexus One?

I don't have a Nexus One, but I use doubleTwist for my G1 and Motorola Cliq. It has an easy-to-use iTunes-like interface and can sync by playlists, artists, etc. Also, it's free. Salling Media Sync is also a serviceable (and free) option that works, but it lacks a nice interface.

Brian -

I loved the promise of DoubleTwist, but in practice, I found it next to useless. I'm disappointed that you're recommending it in the book. If it's one of the best Android Apps, Android is in real trouble.

What specifically don't you like about doubleTwist? I found it to be a pretty capable media manager, relatively speaking. Was it having to manually mount the SD card that turned you off? Did it choke on syncing a large number of files? Too slow? Lacking features?

doubleTwist isn't iTunes, but then again I think iTunes isn't that great either. These media manager apps could be so much cooler than they are, but unless someone wises up and creates a BumpTop for media management, we're stuck with the current crop of mediocre schlock.

I'm kind of weird. I don't really use my Nexus One much for music, but I like to have music on the SD card. So I have a smart playlist set up in iTunes, and every now and then, I'll replace what's on my Nexus One by dragging and dropping. But one of these apps would save me a lot of hassle.
