I have been trying to use my iPad as a business tool rather than a large iPod Touch. Two apps have distinguished themselves for practical business use. Roambi, which I explained why I like it here, is an excellent tool for visualizing your data. The second app I just purchased was Keynote for the iPad. I have Keynote on my MacBook Pro, so it was a natural to fork out the $10 bucks for the iPad version.

What I like about Keynote for the iPad is that the display of my data and presentation is awesome, and virtually nothing changed. I have a screen shot of the iPad displaying a page from my preso and a .mov file showing the whole 5 page preso.

I'd love to hear more about great business apps that you have tried out.

Citrix Receiver is pretty cool too, as is Memeo Connect Reader [accesses Google Docs], but there has to be more great business productivity apps for the iPad...

I've been very impressed with Good Reader. I use it to read PDFs, Word Docs -- any sort of document, really. And the Dropbox integration is fantastic. I can dump things on my Dropbox account and then access that content on the iPad.

It depends. If most place of where you go have wifi then just get the wifi version. Otherwise, it is pretty important to have the 3G wireless function as you can browse internet and check email everywhere...
