In this conversation Dale Doughtery of MAKE magazine gets a back street tour of manufacturing tech products in China from Liam Casey of PCH International. This interview is a must watch if you plan to head east for manufacturing.

It's not clear to me that this video is even remotely about how to manufacture consumer electronics and other products in China. If there were an essay exam at the end, what could we answer besides "Contact Liam Casey's company"? If anything, it's about how much more complex, in some ways, it is today than it might have been years ago, and how you need an intermediary today when before you just needed to find a factory. (I realize that's an oversimplification, but not by much.)

Moreover, what message is here for Detroit? Certainly neither Casey nor Dougherty has thought it through. Yes, Detroit has R&D and design skills that "for now" (did you catch that?) exceed what is to be found in China, but the huge majority of Detroit's unemployed aren't designers, as far as I can tell. No doubt an innovative entrepreneur will find a way to make use of some of the space and the skills in Detroit and to integrate them with the manufacturing power of China, (say, an electric car with Chinese battery and other bits) but it's hard to imagine how this video could make a difference to that effort.

If you know a person who has a manufacturing business in China, you can simply contact him directly to manufacture your product and ship this for you. Biology Essay | Academic Essay Writing
