Hi,

I have a few hundred friends on Facebook and it's difficult to find status updates from people I really want to follow. Is it possible to receive status updates from selected friends in email? If not, is it possible to filter status updates on Facebook and see only certain friends' statuses?

Thanks!

What I do is create different lists of friends in Facebook. Then I can click on the list if I only want to see status updates from people in that list. For example, I have a list of work friends, family, friends from college, etc. To create a friend list in Facebook:

  • On your News Feed page click Friends in the left nav
  • Click the "+ Create a List" button at the top right
  • Enter a name for your list
  • Click on the friends you want to add to the list and then click Create List

When you have your list created you'll see it under Friends in the left nav (click Friends if you don't see it listed right away). When you click the list name you'll only see status updates from friends on that list.

Here's another way to see and manage all of your friend lists:

  • Click Account at the top right of any Facebook page
  • Click Edit Friends
  • Click All Connections on the left. From here you can create a new list, add friends to existing lists, and see which lists your friends are on.

I don't think there is an option to receive status updates from friends in email.

Hope this helps!
