How can the Android Market be improved?

While installing the fantastic Keyring app on my phone the other day, I realized (yet again) how clunky the Android app process can be. There's a lot of unnecessary friction.

My biggest pet peeve: Why isn't barcode scanner functionality built into the Market application? Android app creators have embraced QR codes, but as a consumer I hate having to launch some sort of third-party barcode app on my device, take a picture of the QR code, and then navigate to the new application I desire. I want to scan and acquire from a single app.

I've got a few other gripes -- a robust website, local currency conversion -- but I'd like to hear from other Android users. What features and functionality would you like to see added to the Android Market? Please weigh in through the comments or cast a vote in the associated poll.

A way to suggest, share or send an App to someone else. When I'm browsing through the Market, I often see something I'ld like to suggest to a friend who also has an Android. A "suggest to someone" button would be very handy.

I hate to be self-promoting, but making it easier to find Android apps is exactly what we're trying to do - check out androidapps.com.

This is obsolete... I checked and the Market is a bit better than some week ago :P [A better categorization is a necessity. If I'm looking for a music player I don't want to dig between themes, porn&spyware apps, ringtones, wallpapers; I can bear the presence of video players or picture viewers (even though I'd prefer them to have their own category), but the market like this is such a waste of time!]

Plus: when I uninstall an application, what's the purpose of the poll? I always give the same answer ("I don't use it"), even though I could say something more. What about "it doesn't work on my phone"? Or "it's too greedy of resources"? Maybe the possible answers are translated badly in my language (italian), but it never occurred to me to install e "dangerous" or a "damaged" application.

Something I noticed is that copyright at the moment is a bland opinion in the market: there are people that sell roms of games, many applications (especially the porny ones) are just a collection of pictures or other media made by other people... there should be the possibility to question the legitimity of an application.
