Drupal Book page 123 Hands on Views

I didn't know where else to ask this but its about the Drupal Book, which so far has been out standing in helping me with the subject.

If this isn't the appropriate place to ask, I am happy to be directed to the place that is

My problem is on page 123 all about Views and I get to the point where I have Added a view and hit Next, when I click Style: Unformatted according to the book Im supposed to get a list of things like Table, Grid etc, only sometime when I click it does but most of the time it doesn't, the real problem is I have no Plus button to add Fields and when click fields nothing happens. I thought it might be a browser problem so Im now using ei but same thing.

BTW its Drupal 1.9, on Apache, I've attached a screen shot but not sure if its of any use.

Im completely stuck on this book and need some help, thanks very much
