I'm planning on using MAMP on an OS X 10.4 system to act as a secure proxy server that routes to an internal server. I need to setup re-direct for multiple domains. MAMP Pro supports multiple domains but when I looked under the covers it means that it supports it via it's GUI interface. Does anyone know if there is an issue using just MAMP and manually editing the httpd.conf file to suit?

You will need a 3rd service like DynDNS to route traffic to your local machine. MAMP PRO offers DynDNS integration via its interface. However with a little configuration you can achieve the same with MAMP free version.

Here is a tutorial in my bookmark which should help you, I think I don't need to rewrite the whole article here. So check out the tutorial here.

No problem with multiple domains and MAMP, you don't need the PRO version if you have just that need. I successfully modify httpd.conf on MAMP basic edition and setup a dozen of domains.
