GPS on Droid X (no data plan)

I read the post on here about how to use a Droid phone without a VZW data plan (this is of course without using it for voice). The process seems pretty simple getting the phone to activate with the 4-corners method and the responses have been very encouraging. My GPS funcion (which is Google Maps Navigation) works as well. Since it dosent have anything to do with making calls, I assume it would. Anyone know the answer?
