I maintain a website that was developed by an outside contractor. It contains code that is way over my head. It includes html, css, php, among other things. I maintain it with dreamweaver CS5. I have figured out how to change the title meta tag for individual pages but cannot figure out how to change the meta content tag for individual pages. There is the same content tag for every website page. We are trying to increase our google search hits by adding unique content tags for several pages.
The website, www.nationalaglawcenter.org, has numerous templates. There is a master template and templates for a page then templates within each page linked from that page. I have done a search on the entire site within dreamweaver on the text contained in the content meta tag. It is not found anywhere. How can that be?
When I view the source in the online website, here's what I see on every page. What is the last line about?
<meta name="description" content="The National Agricultural Law Center features aglaw news of judicial and administrative developments, subject-based reading rooms on aglaw topics, research articles, glossary, congressional links, and farm bills history." />
<meta name="verify-v1" content="/t0jdRfolUoCydjbhKjmPy/PZctmeSDnDUi9zjXRwA4=" />
Any suggestions?
