If you purchase a print book and register it at http://oreilly.com/register/, you should then see an offer for a $4.99 ebook upgrade in the Print Books section of Your Products page.

If an ebook you've purchased has been updated with new content, a new format, or corrections, you should receive an email notifying you of the change, and then you can download the updated ebook from Your Products page.

If you have any questions about print to ebook upgrades or free ebook updates, feel free to email customer service at orders@oreilly.com

Hope that helps!

I don't think the question was an upgrade from paper print to digital. I think the question can be reworded to:
How do I get an eBook edition upgrade?
Is that right? I hope so, because I was looking for that answer too.

You're right, it does look like I misunderstood the question. If you have an older edition of a book, you can get 40-50% off the newer edition. If you purchased the ebook or print book from oreilly.com, or if you register your book at oreilly.com, and we'll send you an upgrade email when the new edition comes out, and you'll see new edition upgrade buttons on the Your Products page in Your Account.
