the others can why dont mine?

First off thank you so much for providing me the actual downloadables for the last tutorials of sawmac and their components for dreamweaver 8.

having finished the tutorials and they all connected and worked. i then tried to use my new knowlege base for a my own projects. step one create a simple database in phpmyadmin. having one on my computer also from MSaccess. (mdb) i set everything like the tutorial site and the testing site in phpmyadmin and those connect... in test url. Mine dont. but they are identical to the one in the sawmac tutorial for php and the test site of phpmyadmin. I have even gone so far as to secure admin privileges to the database in phpmyadmin for the ever humble.... root. so why without any fussing did sawmacs site and the test site on phpmyadmin test in their urls and not the ones i set up for myself? Ami missing a file of settings for dw8 to work with xampp? i am using the xampp recommended in sawmacs somewhat outdated tutorial on php pages.

i am rapidly becoming frustrated as hardly anything for dw8 exists .... anywhere
