Does Verizon still use Circuit Presence Over Packet Data CPOP?
Twitter user @ipaystation asked this question when I tweeted a link to the Verizon vs. ATT 3G coverage map. I don't know the answer, so I thought I'd ask the question here.

Yes. Verizon still uses CPOP. Circuit Presence Over Packet Data (CPOP) is a method to assure that you receive an incoming call when you're using your device to surf the web or another app that uses a data connection. Most of the newer EVDO devices already do this.
