How do I take a screenshot on my Motorola Droid?
The only solution I found requires that I download the SDK, which seems extreme. Is there another solution (CTRL+F4, anyone?), or anything in the works?

@sboss, thanks for the link to that screenshot app. It looks like you need to have a rooted phone in order for it to work, though.
I haven't found any solution aside from using the SDK on non-rooted phones.
What is the big deal about loading the SDK on your MacBook Pro?
You then simply: 1. Connect your phone to your USB, and mount it by dragging down the Notification bar and selecting USB Connected. 2. Then you go to where you downloaded and unarchived the SDK, and go to the Tools subdirectory and click on ddms. 3. Once the app loads, you just select your device. Give it time to fire up your terminal window and run through its checks. Now select your device by clicking on it. 4. Then go to the app window and Click on Device and a select Screen Capture on the drop-down menu. Here is a screen shot of screen capture being selected.

I've followed Mike's solution up to the point where my phone is mounted on my desktop, but when I launch ddms my device doesn't show up in the window as something to select, so all options are grayed out. Anyone know what might be happening here?

Brian, you may need to go into Settings>Applications>Development and enable "USB Debugging".

Hello everyone. I am new to this site and to Droids. I want to take a screenshot of my phone's screen. My phone is not rooted. I have tried following a tutorial on KnowYourCell. I downloaded all the required software and install the Java JDK successfully but then when I go to run Android SDK it says and installation of Java JDK has not been found. I have tried re-installing, and restarting, still nothing. Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks.
