How to manage Google doc invitations when you have multiple email addresses

Like most people, I've got more than one email address. When I access Google docs though I prefer to do so via my Gmail account. So when someone sends a Google doc link to my other email addresses I've typically sent them a reply asking them to invite me through my Gmail account.

I don't know why I never thought of this before, but there's a much simpler solution that doesn't require assistance from the person who sent the doc link: Just click on the link that came to your other email address, then use the Share button in Google docs to invite yourself again, this time using your preferred email address.
