How do I uninstall Adobe AIR for Mac... without the uninstall program?
When I upgraded to Snow Leopard, I figured I'd lose a few things, but the strangest problems are things that half-vanished.
Adobe AIR still seems to work fine within the browser, but I can't seem to make it do anything with downloaded files, like the latest TweetDeck. I tried reinstalling it, but of course it thinks it's already there, and won't install again. Adobe says I can uninstall it with a program in Applications > Utilities, but it's not there either. I'd be happy to uninstall and reinstall, or just associate .AIR files with it somehow... but in the meantime I'm just stuck. Any suggestions? 1 Reply
I haven't tested these, but I've read two ways to do it.
One is to remove the Adobe Air Framework from the /Library/Frameworks/ directory, reinstall Adobe Air using their installer, and then the uninstaller app will show up in the /Applications/Utilities folder. The other way is to mount the installer's disk image, and then run /Volumes/Adobe\ AIR/Adobe\ AIR\ Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe\ AIR\ Installer -uninstallfrom the terminal. |
