iPhoto, DoubleTwist and other Mac programs don't recognize USB-connected Nexus One

I want to offload photos from my Nexus One to iPhoto, and to use DoubleTwist to load music onto it. But when I plug in the phone, it isn't recognized. I know the USB is good, because I can connect the phone to a debugger. Any ideas?

When you first connect an Android phone to USB it will notify you that it is connected, but you will have to manually mount the SD card. To do this, tap the "USB Connected" notification and select "Mount". I just verified that the Nexus One shows up under devices in DoubleTwist. iPhoto will also recognize it and pop up.

Most new Android users don't know that they have to mount the phone so in the latest dev build of doubleTwist for Mac we give users instructions on how to mount their phone.
